Repertoire Requirements

Please determine the appropriate division according to your age as of December 15th, 2019.

All repertoire must be memorized unless indicated otherwise.

Unless specified in the repertoire requirements, no repeats are to be taken. However, D.C. & D.S. should be taken. When specific editions are recommended, participants must use those editions. If no edition is listed, please use modern editions, avoiding heavily edited editions.

JUNIOR (Age 13 and under)

  • François-Joseph Gossec: Gavotte

  • Georges Bizet: Minuet (no memorization required)

INTERMEDIATE (Age 16 and under)

  • J.S. Bach: Badinerie
    (from 24 Short Concert Pieces, revised by Robert Cavally)

  • Philippe Gaubert: Nocturne et allegro scherzando (no memorization required)

Senior (Age 19 and under)

  • Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach: Flute Sonata in A minor, H.562, III. Allegro
    (published by Urtext or G. Schirmer or available on IMSLP)

  • Carl Reinecke: Concerto in D Major, Op.283, III. Finale: Moderato
    (no memorization required)

  • Claude Debussy: Opening solo of Prelude Afternoon of a Faun (measures 1-4)
